SEASIDE CAMP FOR CHILDREN

We are a camp culture inclusive to all abilities.

Our camp at Mangles Bay, Cape Peron is now well established. With many years of fruitful labour behind us we now look to the continual support of the Society’s activities in maintaining and improving the facilities of the Palm Beach Camp so that all children with disabilities in the State may enjoy a happy care-free holiday irrespective of class, colour or creed.

Here, these children can spend a novel, carefree and welcome holiday.

The Seaside Camp for Children (previously the Alfred Hines Seaside Home) has 5 dormitories with separate rooms in each dormitory. The camp can sleep a maximum of 150 people. There is also separate accommodation for leaders. The camp has Pipeline beds and comfortable mattresses. Campers will have to bring their own pillows, linen and blankets or sleeping bag.

Facilities also include a large dining hall and modern kitchen with a cool room attached. The camp is well set up for self-catering with all cooking utensils available. A lovely barbecue area and large patio overlooks the sea and Garden Island. Portable gas barbecues are provided upon request. No resident cook available at the camp. Laundry facilities are also available to campers. A separate Art/Craft room is also available to groups using the camp.

Our Camp is Wheelchair Accessible including a concrete ramp to access the beach and water. A beach wheelchair is also available for loan.

Welcome to Seaside Camp!
